Namma Kathe

With this thought came the inception of ‘Maavu’.

Maavu, like many other of our initiatives has been inspired by acts of our Founder Father Late. Sri. T N Ramachandra Reddy. During his time of harvesting this crop they lived close to what is now called the dreadful Silk Board junction and back then it was nowhere close to what it has come to become today.

It was still like a rural Bangalore suburb with cattle farms and coconut grooves. Every year after the mango harvest, he would bring back a tiny truck load of mangoes and put them in an open room outside their house.

This was free for people to come and take from it all they desired. It feels like a completely different world to what we are experiencing today. Would you believe if you were told that people would take just a few that were enough for their household from this unlocked room full of mangoes. We trust the same initiative would not work in today’s world.

Thus this initiative to make the summer fruit available for all those who have the power to buy at affordable prices and also make it available to the children of the future who can’t.
